I lived there for 2 years under 2 different owners, I only stayed for the convenient location and my limited budget. The rooms are small, cold and damp. Ventilation in the ensuite is terrible, and every time someone showers the fire alarm goes off. Maintenance took nearly 4 months to fix a broken light in the kitchen, and the ovens would constantly break. The bins in the courtyard were not collected for months, and the yard is often filled with rats. The post box, which was already far too small for the number of tenants, was moved inside the gate so no mail can be delivered. Towards the end of my tenancy, there was a bad leak through my ceiling that left my room covered in water damage and mould. At first they tried to blame it on my shower at the other end of the room. In the end all they did was put a dehumidifier in the room.
If you don't mind overpaying for a small, damp room with mould and a barely functional kitchen. And never being able to receive post, the location of college mews is very convenient. Just watch out for the rats.
There's been 3 different owners in the 3 years I've stayed here. Currently run by Lighthouse properties who are the best ones yet, great at communicating and fix any maintenance issues in a reasonable time
