We should be on holiday now at Laundry cottage. I booked it about 6weeks ago through cottages. com. Two weeks before I was due to go, I was left a message on my phone saying there had been a double booking! I had paid all the money by then and the whole family is disappointed as it's too late to book anything else before the schools go back.We were going with our daughter and family.This should not be allowed to happen. Apparently we are not the only ones that this has happened to. I'll be very wary in future!

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF THE ACCOMMODATION which looks great. It is a review of the booking process. We booked this cottage through Hoseasons and paid £££! We called the owner of the cottage a week before the holiday only to be told she had privately rented it out already and that we were not booked in. Hoseasons were contacted within 10 minutes ( on a Sunday too!) this is contrary to owners claim of not being able to get through. Owners should not advertise their properties on numerous websites as families like mine are left devastated when planned holidays and lost work are at risk.
