The Grange Hotel

Just had a fantastic meal here at the smokehouse bar and grill. We ordered milkshakes to start off, they were fantastic (recommend the chocolate brownie one). Our server seated us quickly and gave us a good rundown of the menu options (explaining most of the portions were above average size). The food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious, cannot fault either the food or the service! We will 100% be returning and will be recommending to our friends and family!! Thank you for a lovely dining experience🙏🏻

We visited The Smokehouse yesterday 03/09/20 for lunch, as we had our Gundog with us we choose to sit outside, the building is clearly being repaired new roof etc looks like windows still awaiting refurbishment as looking tired and mucky. The outside now has plenty of seating which is good and kiddies play area, i understand as we live in a seaside resort but sad to see the once so classy Grange outside starting to look like an extension of Haven Holidays. I went inside... Huge improvement quiet plush with a lovely clean bar area. As I suffer from a sensitive stomach I searched menu for non smoked bar food such as the old favourite Scampi & chips 🍟 🙄 sadly no. Only smoked burgers etc so we ordered the route 66 burgers amazingly the barmaid said.. Never heard of it! I said well it's on your menu so she looked but couldn't find it 😂 so i pointed to it, no problems lovely young lady drinks where brought outside to our table (lovely) Guinness is Excellent! Very quickly a waitress brought our food poor girl struggling over car park shedding a few of our frys on the way 😂 poor girl could not help it service is exellent. Our meals sadly 😩 where disappointing nothing wrong with burger 🍔 apart from being luke warm and our frys close to cold ❄!! 🙄 We were hungry soo made a start a very pleasant young gentleman came outside and asked us how our meal was but not wishing to be awkward we just said the frys (chips 🍟) where cold almost, he apologised and very professional offering to fetch us some fresh ones. We declined as we had eaten a few but the gesture was appreciated. All the staff are absolutely Lovely and providing good service. But COME ON KIETA... my family has owned restaurants in Norwich and London plus nightclubs and with food no1 golden rule.. Serve it HOT 🔥 I also read some other customers complaining about food not being HOT 🔥 soo clearly you have a problem that needs urgently addressing if not your business will suffer in winter once tourists return home as locals will not return if food served lukewarm. Soo a massive improvement and clearly new management are working wonders BUT Rome not built in a day. 😕 HOT 🔥 FOOD PLEASE! then from 3 stars to 5.

Review of the Smokehouse Bar & Grill. Absolutely divine, mouth-watering food, even better considering it was all on a 2for1 deal which we didn't even know about. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, and very chatty too which was nice, considering we only usually get that in places we know and frequent. I'd definitely go back if in the area.

Hi this was the second time we had visited the smokehouse , the first 6 weeks back was amazing so we returned , i do not know what it is with restaurants you never seem to get the same quality second time around , rang to book but could not was told to walk in the bar at 2pm it was packed we were seated upstairs to be honest the waiter was lovely , the drinks waitress not so my pint was three quarters full the rest was in the tray , we ordered rack of ribs and the waiter advised us they had changed the rub so the meat came out pink he also said they had had a few complaints about this . tbh the meat was cold and tasted completely different from the first time ,when it arrived and the fries were no better the corn on the cob had no butter , the ketchup came in a thimble for a sack full of spuds silly things i know but when you pay 16quid you want a little more care with presentation sadly i had recommended to many friends hope that does not rebound on me ,

Attended another full throttle evening. Girls behind the bar great as usual. Lovely evening, band had a rather long break so we left but good night.
