Been here several times but more recently last week for lunch when moored on the GU. The one way system is clearly laid out and works well. Staff were friendly and helpful- compliments in particular to the young lady who was cooking and waitressing for the first time since lockdown. My partner enjoyed a couple of pints of Wainwright’s and there were several other real ales available. The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. We agree they are the best chips around and the New Inn is always known to us The Chips pub. Lovely to sit and watch boats up and down in the lock. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

We collected 4 takeaway meals as we were on a narrow boat. Food was fantastic, arrived quickly good value and very tasty. Well done

We made a last minute booking for us and the two children having ran out of energy to go further on the canal. However we were easily accommodated and made to feel welcome. The food was lovely, large portions, nice atmosphere with friendly staff. I couldn't manage pudding but the others attempted one (see the picture a lumpy bumpy something or other?!) No dogs allowed but we were ok to leave ours on the barge.

The new inn. Quaint country pub. The food was lovely. Nice staff very enjoyable. Spectacular views of the lock during the daytime. Well done.
