Look round it yesterday so peaceful away from the hustle of the city will be back

If you are seeking peace and tranquility, perhaps needing to order your thoughts or just to see a bit of lush greenery this is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit. The Victorian part of the Cemetery offers pretty vistas and lush greenery. It can look wild and it is definitely teeming with wildlife. I have met numerous grey squirrels, you can hear them as they squabble in the trees, a green woodpecker laughing, little muntjac deer watching inquisitively from the hedge, tame robins and other birds. In the summer months the grass is left to grow and many wildflowers appear so inviting to moths and butterflies. The cemetery offers an educational trail you can follow, it is marked by posts with small information boards that highlight the lives of some of the famous people interred in this cemetery. This being a non-denominational burial ground (the first one of its kind in England when it was established by Thomas Drummond, a non-conformist minister in 1819) there are many interesting people from Norwich’s past buried here. Definitely worth a visit!
