We visited the Fox Inn for our wedding anniversary. The meal was good and there was nothing wrong with the service. My only real complaint is their lack of consideration for people who are gluten intolerant. How hard is it to keep a loaf of gluten free bread and a packet of gluten free bread rolls in the freezer so that you can stick a bread roll into the microwave for 15 seconds and serve your guests soup with a gluten free roll or stick a slice of gluten free bread into the toaster and serve pate with gluten free toast? Similarly, why can’t you keep a packet of gluten free crackers or Scottish oatcakes in the pantry so that you can serve your guests a gluten free cheese platter? It’s not hard, it’s just laziness and it just cost you two stars. You need to lift your game.

Pop by on Saturday evening after fishing at Elinor. Had not booked but as the four of us only wanted a quick pint and a snack before heading off the pub accommodated us and we had a nice chat in the warmth of a typical country pub talking about our day's experience. Enjoyable hour spent with good friends and good ale.
