Rooms are very dated and overpriced. Should have included cooked breakfast but due to no chef had breakfast in a bag which was poor with No reduction in price Food however is good. The young lad behind the bar was very pleasant which couldn't be said for the owner/manager
As locals go it's a nice friendly drink, the, outside is lovely with all the hanging baskets, there is off road parking too
I rented a room for £75 a night. Upon entering my room I had to use a lot of force to open the door as it was stuck. The room was full of spiders, and spider webs. The wall paper was peeling off. No heating. I could not even open the window to let some fresh air in and to let the musty smell out that was coming from the bathroom, because there was no handle nor any working window opening mechanism. After a day of hiking I wanted to take a bath, however when the bathtub filled up with water I disgustingly discovered the yellowish colour of it. As they left some complimentary coffe with biscuits on the table, I wanted to start my day with one, I decided to forget this idea very quick when I noticed multiple fingerprints on the glasses. This surely does not come handy in a middle of a pandemic. The only positive side of this place was my dinner, however the portion of the "continental" breakfast would not have been enough for a child. Overall: I am disgusted but more likely disappointed by the fact that places like this are actually able to run.
Very comfortable beds. Loads of hot water. Plenty of tea/coffee etc in the room. Perfect stay in an old pub. Loved it.
Dropped in on the off chance they would serve us and luckily they did. Both my husband and I had a meal and dessert and all were excellent. Fair price and pleasant staff.
