Brilliant racecourse with super viewing facilities where you can sit and get a great view at the finishing post. Enjoy the Paddock area and there is also free parking. Don't leave it too late to eat as there is also an evening race meeting in York, so the staff on duty in Thirsk are low numbers. Ice cream van and good toilet facilities available. Highly recommended.

One of the best courses I've been to. All it is missing is a paddock bar with a view of the course. Entrance is easy, there's plenty of parking, the bar prices aren't as extortionate as others I've been to and the food was actually pretty good.

This is one of my favourite caravan sites. It's a couple of minutes walk to the centre of Thirsk with all its shops, restaurants, pubs, takeaways and a small, but perfectly formed, old cinema run by volunteers. There's all the facilities you'd expect of a Caravan & Motorhome Club site and the wardens are lovely. The day before race days you have to move to the rally field up the road but, although it doesn't have electric hook ups, you're right at the side of the racetrack and can watch the races without having to pay.

It's a pleasant enough site, handy for the town centre. Facilities very cramped and dated. Ten inch step up and over into the showers (ladies). No privacy cubicles. I don't count as disabled but that's beyond me these days. We keep the stay to a minimum use our own and hope we don't run out of water because it's more complicated filling up a motorhome midway through.
