This is a charming old hotel. I think it used to be a bank. The breakfast was very good and partly buffet style which speeded things up a lot. The hotel is also in a great location, very central. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Lovely room, clean and tea facilities. the prices for the drinks and fridge bar expensive. The staff were always helpful. Bar staff was lovely and bubbly. Shame that covid stopped the food being served in the restaurant area.
Super comfortable rooms, bathroom could use a little up keep, a couple small tiles around the shower didn't look great, but overall great hotel to stay at
Really helpful and friendly reception staff, room fine, lovely bathroom apart from no bath ☹️. Beds hard but would suit some.
HOWEVER- accepting the COVID-19 reason for only providing continental Breakfast in the room there was not a reason for the abysmal choice. Croissant (only one), fresh fruit - I was given my banana green/grey - frozen I believe as were the croissants - asked for another croissant because the only options for cereal were Coco Pops and Rice Krispies! Was told I couldn’t because they had to be taken from the freezer the night before. Such a shame - could so easily be addressed and for £155 for the night - not acceptable.
Breakfast was good but the hotel lacks atmosphere. Doesn't make the best of the history of the building.
