Stopped here by chance whilst touring the UK by motorbike with a friend. We were only looking for a breakfast and we weren't disappointed. Probably one of the best breakfast baps I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stop in again.

This was a visit after a long absence and the staff cannot be faulted nor can the starters but, fusion cooking does not belong in a country pub. Chicken Bourguignon was a very nice sauce and good mash but with a dry chicken fillet sitting on top. Tandoori chicken was excellent but the taco shell it came in ,not so. Our fault for trying something different but at least the wine was very good and the staff were brilliant and took no offense at the criticism of the mains on the day. We heard comments being passed back to the kitchen and fair play to them for doing so.

Lovely pub, fantastic staff. The food was good quality but we had a few issues which we felt let the experience down. Firstly ordering and paying at the beginning of a meal was a bit alien, which, in of itself is not an issue, however, our meal was wrong and we felt like there was nothing to be done. The communication wasn't great between ourselves and the staff when they tried to correct an issue they didn't communicate when we said the order was wrong and felt little was done to correct it. My obnoxious ranting aside, if you're thinking about going after visiting the area it is worth it 100%!

Had a very interesting time here. I was waiting in line for a pint which took 30 minutes after a look at my watch. One pint would be poured and then the manager would force the bartender off to a different job. There were only four people ahead of me, but it was obvious that was too much for the boss.

Amazing food in a beautiful old pub. Garden is a must on a sunny day. Staff very friendly and efficient and all covid precautions in place. Will go again soon
