Impressive Elizabethan hotel. So spacious and so much history in a luxury surrounding. The rooms are really well appointed, recently refitted and comfortable. The spa facilities are light and comprehensive too. If you want a luxurious weekend away you can't go wrong.

Having a lovely relaxing time here at the Hall. We have so far experienced - afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. The food is gorgeous. The only BUT is, I would say the service is a bit quick... it has felt a bit rushed. At dinner last night the starters came out nearly as soon as we had ordered it. We purposely ate these very slowly, to delay the main course but that was not the case, the plates were cleared and hey presto the main course was there... delicious though it was, we would have liked some time between. We did hold off the dessert as long as we could and shared a white chocolate cheesecake (also delicious). At breakfast this morning our cereal plates had not even been removed and our cooked part of the meal arrived!! Hubby did mention this to the staff as they were trying to put down the plates! Never the less, we are enjoying our stay and feel very comfortable in these COVID times. We have made use of the Spa, swimming pool and the relaxation areas too.

Beautiful old hall and lovely grounds. We had a great afternoon tea with lovely food but our evening meal was disappointing with no kids menu/options at all and steaks not great quality. Spa and gym was nice but parts of the hotel is not open at the moment including the Great Hall which is our favourite room in the whole place. Rooms were a mixed bag but clean and nicely decorated. Overall a nice stay but with some attention to detail, more attentive staff and reopening of the most atmospheric parts it could be an excellent place to come and stay.

Amazing setting, fantastic rooms, outstanding food. All the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. The building is old and all the modern conveniences are in keeping with the building, if you want ultra modern this might not be the place for you, if want to feel like you are set back on time with elegance and old fashioned service whilst having the modern conveniences of air con, smart tv's etc you will love this place. Just sitting and relaxing in the great hall reading a book or the paper is special. A spa is accessible through the Hotel, we just spent a few hours relaxing by the pool, steam room and sauna which was lovely. Why only four stars then? We had afternoon tea, dinner and two breakfasts at the Hotel and every meal felt like we were being rushed, the next course was being brought to the table before the previous courses plates etc had been cleared away, so even though the quality of the food was excellent and the staff were wonderful the meals weren't as pleasurable or relaxing an experience as the rest of the stay.
