An excellent guest house in a beautiful area of the dales. Everything is spotlessly clean and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, who are coping with the present restrictions as well as can be expected. I wish them a speedy return to 'normal' and their usual full house.

We spent 2 nights at Cambridge House during the Easter weekend. The house is in a perfect location, walking distance to local amenities and shops. It’s also close to many paths to explore the Dales. The room and the house were nicely decorated and very clean. Also well equipped. Sheila and Robert were amazing hosts. The breakfast choice was superb. They also have many suggestions and information on what to do to explore the area.

Having just spent four nights here, I have to say it was one of the best experiences of a B&B ever. From the welcome from the owners Sheila and Robert on arrival to the bill on leaving, everything was wonderful. On arrival we completed the paperwork, were shown our room, on the top floor and despite there being refreshments in our room, were offered tea and cake in the conservatory. This not only happened on the first day, but every day, between 3 and 5, when we returned from walking. Cakes are homemade and tea comes in beautiful china tea pots and drunk from proper china mugs. On theThe bedroom was extremely comfortable. A comfy bed, superior quality duvet, pillows and bed linen, beautifully soft towels in the bathroom and plenty of storage. Even dressing gowns and slippers were provided, along with lovely soaps, etc in bathroom. Complimentary tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, handmade chocolates the first night and homemade shortbread were easily accessible. Fresh milk was available every day, kept in a special fridge in the entrance hall in an insulated jug per room, so you could take it up with you. They are licensed and operate an honesty bar for alcohol which is just added to the bill. They have won awards for breakfast - the menu was extensive, with local produce used wherever possible. Nearly all the jams and marmalade’s are made on the premises and have also won awards. It was lovely to share the large table with the other guests, swapping stories of walks we’d all done, good places to go to and places for evening meals. There are only 4 doubles and 1 single room, so at not point would you feel cramped. There is a lovely conservatory for afternoon tea and then a beautifully appointed lounge with a wood burner for later in the evening. Cannot rate this highly enough and will definitely be returning.

Top guest house and great hosts. Breakfast is magnificent; you'll wish you stayed longer to sample all the options. Tea and cake in the afternoon and now licensed for an evening drink too! Sheila and Robert who run the guest house could not be more helpful and welcoming.
