If you are looking for a very quirky, isolated place for a break then Temple Folly is for you. Despite being quite close to the road it is amazingly peaceful. Most of the time all you could hear was the bleat of sheep and the cockerel crowning. Early morning trips to the bathroom were a scenic adventure as you have to walk nearly all the way round the outside of the building on the external balcony to get to the stone staircase which takes you downstairs. I was relieved we didn't get too much rain! From the majestic bed in the upstairs room you have a unique view across Wensleydale towards Bolton Castle. Downstairs the living area is compact, but packs in all the essentials - cooker and hob, sink, microwave (that was a surprise!), fridge, TV and a very efficient wood burning stove. There was more than enough wood provided for the duration of our stay, but even without the stove lit the folly was never cold. The cooking equipment provided is basic, so if you plan to do lots of cooking I would suggest bringing a large saucepan or two and a large frying pan. It's several miles from the nearest shops, pubs and restaurants - so come prepared with supplies. And don't forget your walking boots as the surrounding Wensleydale countryside is absolutely stunning and you will be drawn to get out in it.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Larch Yurt and I would highly recommend it. We stayed with our 10 year old and 18 month old and they both loved it! The hot tub was fantastic, the views amazing and the Yurt was warm and cosy. The farm tour was a highlight for all of us and Tim really made the experience something we will remember fondly. Thank you so much for making our stay so special! We will be back!! Laura & family xx

We had a wonderful wedding anniversary at The Wensleydale Experience! The yurt (Oak) was beautiful, everything was very clean and set up ready for us. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they told us about the local area. We went on some incredible walks (definitely make use of the maps on the Wensleydale Experience website!) ate great food and had a cosy evening next to the wood burner with a couple bottles of wine! It was very cold during the night so I would definitely suggest bringing lots of warm clothes and extra blankets! We will definitely be back in the warmer months so that we can take advantage of the wood-fired hot tub!

We had a fantastic couple of nights in the Rowan yurt. Perfect for us as a little higher and more secluded. Despite arriving quite a bit later than planned, Tim greeted us and showed us round and had kept the hot tub warm. The children were squealing with excitement as we had to enjoy it in the dark and light rain with head torches! The team were so friendly and helpful and the yurt was very cosy with plenty of room for 5 of us. My partner said Tim’s farm tour was outstanding and our girls loved it. Thank you all, we’ll be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights in October and it was a great little break. The thing that really makes this place is the fact that there is always someone on hand to help and you really can't undervalue that. Tim was there to greet us on arrival and arranged for us to get access to the whole for supplies (even through we were a bit late). Tim explained how to operate the tub and ran us through everything else we would need to know during our stay. There are lovely walks through the fields and down to the river. We took Tim up on the farm tour and while the daily operation of a farm was a bit of a snap back to reality on here our food comes from he could not have made it anymore fun and enjoyable for all of us. All in all this place is great, we will book again.
