Had a Sunday Roast. It was served VERY quickly presumably from a warmer...the peas and carrots were turning yellow as had been cooked too long ago. The chicken was a seasoned braised breast and had not been roasted as a full bird. The mash wasn't completely smooth, and the roast potatoes had no crispness. Service was efficient, polite and friendly, but I wasn't hugely impressed by the hygiene standards in the ladies room.... food was cheap as huge plateful for £8, but I'd have gladly paid more for better. All in all, I'd say it was quite average for a pub out in the sticks doing their best during quiet times.
Lovely peaceful place to visit
Karen and her husband couldn't have been more welcoming with a good steak and biscuits for the dog. They have recently taken over the pub and we wish you all the best of luck. Thanks for looking after us.
Really nice pub situated beside the canal and convenient for local walks. Covid friendly and the staff are courteous and friendly. Large car park and the food is tasty,well priced and presented.
A great place to stay for food. We had a very tasty lamb and mint pie, chips, peas and gravy. Moorish (pardon the pun!) Good banter with the landlady, and dog-friendly.
