First visit to the Lambley in years. Was very impressed with all the measures in place for Covid. Service was brilliant and food was great and not just heated up in a microwave like most pubs these days. Would definitely recommend 😊

Before lock down regularly ate at The Lambley and were not disappointed. However, ate there tonight and were really disappointed with the food and the response from the very gruff man when i mentioned the fish was not flaky but quite chewy so either not fresh or over cooked. He clearly took exception to this and went to speak to the chef. He came back and said the fish was fresh that morning and from the same supplier they usually use. I said if it was fresh then it was over cooked. Off he went again and came back and said he had looked at the half a fish i left and it had fallen apart. He then said he didn't want to argue - he'd already done that by going back to the kitchen twice and his gruff manner. He offered a free dessert which i accepted but it didn't make up for his manner or the fact the meal was completely ruined for me. Will not be being back and won't recommend. Would have gone to the Woodstock if they'd had a table.

Fabulous truly traditional country pub feel restaurant! Staff are amazingly helpful and practice perfect social distancing. Chef's cooking is absolutely 5 star Michelin level food. Beautifully presented and everything totally delicious and cooked to perfection. Sauces and gravy so moreish. Even ice cream is really fresh and creamy. Seated quickly and service excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Also excellent range of real ale and all reasonably priced. You get what you pay for and this is fantastic value for money. Classy food in a traditionally English establishment which is beautifully decorated. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon there in such a lovely atmosphere.

We were very well looked after, the food was fantastic, we were seated on the new outside decked area which was lovely in the evening sun, the only downside was 4 or 5 people on the next table smoking.
