I have now stayed at the hotel on two separate occasions and both times the rooms have been very spacious with an incredibly comfy bed. Check-in was easy enough - you just have to go to the restaurant - and for check out, you just leave the key card in a box. The place is always sparkling clean but with Covid there have been some changes. No-one comes into the room anymore as it's your own bubble. Instead you can leave any towels you want changed outside of your room and you'll get new ones. The teas and coffees people usually expect in the room are instead handed to you at check-in in a little brown bag. Masks are mandatory everywhere. We have also eaten at the restaurant a few times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast has the usual offerings of continental, pancakes, full English and even eggs Benedict (veggie versions of everything are also available). The lunch menu is fantastic value for money whether you do the sandwiches (cheapest was £6.50), which either come with salad or chips, or the set menu (2 courses for £10). By far my favourite, however, has been coming to the restaurant for dinner. The rotisserie chicken is fantastic and again at a great price. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Gamston Lock.

Travelling alone, I felt safe. The room was very spacious, calming decor, well equipped. Excellent shower and very comfy bed. Welcome was warm and all info needed was given. Would definitely stay again.

We spent there really nice time. Good food and biutyfull restaurant, nice staff and clean room. The best place if you like quiet and comfort.

Rooms are fine, pillows are really nice! The breakfast took so long to arrive the next morning and the service was very slow but the food was tastey and overall it was good.
