The Old Post Office

Barbara and Troy were the perfect hosts. They made us feel extremely welcome. Its a real friendly atmosphere, and gorgeous surroundings. Our room was clean and breakfast was perfect. We will definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

This was a great find! Having arrived at Heathrow in the evening, I wanted to split my journey North and stay overnight en-route to the Midlands somewhere along the M40. The booking process was easy and Robyn assisted promptly to my questions concerning time of flight arrival and later on the requirement for an additional room. Our rooms were all individual units located behind the main building that we could pull the car up to, which was perfect for my Mum who walks with the aid of a stick as well as for off loading luggage. In warmer months I would have taken advantage of the outside seating area each room had. Rooms were tastefully decorated and were both cozy and comfortable with the usual facilities and amenities required for an overnight stay. Coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits feature quite high on my list! The shower rooms are a little on the small side but were adequate for my needs and offered toiletries. The highlight has to be BREAKFAST! Cereals, granola, fresh fruit, nuts, seed, dried fruit, yogurts, bread, croissants all available from the buffet and then any combination of full English cooked to order along with bottomless tea, coffee and juice. Whilst for us this may have been an overnight stay, The Old Post Office is perfectly situated to act as a base to explore this part of Oxfordshire, it also has a large open grassed garden area which can only be an added benefit if you have youngsters that need to let of steam in a safe and secure environment.
