The location is in a lovely pretty village and is perfect location for visiting other places in the cotswolds. The room was decent although the lighting could be better as no ceiling light. Also the room was incredibly hot even with the window open. Room was clean and bathroom was a good size. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was OK but nothing special.

My niece and I stayed a few nights in August 20. It was during the pandemic so were concerned about cleanliness essential etc. However, we found the hotel staff to be so careful and friendly. Constant mask wearing and plenty of space for socially distanning at the bar and meals. Meals were excellent. We had a superior twin room with a large shower room. Very suitable. The location was excellent. We visited Blenheim Palace, Burford and Chipping Norton. All easily accessible by car. Would definitely stay again.

Unhelpful, unaccommodating staff... we were camping in the local area. My husband popped in whilst we were at the local park asking if they could accommodate us for some food at lunch time. Bar staff advised should be fine but they had 1 table of 12 to cook for so we may have to wait, but they served food all day. Arrived at the pub at 2.15pm, ordered a drink (asked again about the chips) and sat in the beautiful garden (that's why I gave it 1 star) and popped back in saying we would be happy with the chips whenever ready, to keep the kids happy. Told that we would have to wait until the table of 12 were served. So had another drink. My husband, half an hour later, went to check if the kitchen could now cook our chips. Was told that they were no longer doing food. The 1 star is for the beautiful stream at the bottom of the garden only. If you visit, bring a picnic from the co op opposite like the table next to us did!

The property is in a beautiful location and well located for a visit to Blenheim. Comfortable bed. COVID secure. Manager dealt with a leak in our room well and issued a refund. They provided breakfast early at our request too which was appreciated. However, the room felt it needed a few finishing touches, and depending on room, noise from the pub is a little disruptive.
