Top quality establishment! Kevin & Gill make you welcome from the moment you set foot in the place. There's a welcome tea/coffee and cake to revive you from your journey! It is clean, tidy, modern and fresh. Rooms are exceptional value for money. The beds are super-comfortable and the whole place is really quiet. New double-glazing helps there, but the area's quiet anyway. Most rooms overlook farmland and fields, so there's little housing intrusion. Breakfast is a good selection of the usual fare, well presented and filling. Dinner is available some nights if you pre-arrange it, as well as a packed lunch - ideal if you're walking. The town is a short drive or 5min walk away with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Currently the Covid measures are spot on, with them earning a "Covid-secure" status. They only have one group of people at a time, so there's no risk of transmission. Sanitiser is right inside the door, so you are encouraged to use it immediately. Overall this is a top-quality place to stay and one I use every time I visit SM. Thoroughly recommended.

What a great find! The Middleton House B&B is where you need to stay - look no further. I stayed here for only one night after I participated in a gardening course up the road run by Charles Dowding. The highlight was definitely my stay in Shepton Mallet with Kevin and Gill! Clean, cozy house, delicious and filling breakfast, total quiet and restful sleep, light-filled room so you can just be in there all day with a book gazing out the window. I'll also add that Shepton Mallet deserves more tourism- the town was absolutely charming- have a stroll from their b&b to the shops, get a pint at The Swan and chat with locals about Shepton Mallet's history, this town houses the oldest prison in Europe! lovely, welcoming people all of them!

Needed somewhere to stay for our visit to East Somerset Railway. This Bed and Breakfast was perfect. From the welcome tea and cake on arrival to our breakfast on departure day, everything was excellent. So much choice for breakfast each day and a yummy evening meal. Our hosts were so friendly and took time to chat with us. So much information available. One of the best Bed and Breakfasts ever. Thanks for all you did for us. PS Gill’s flapjacks were delicious. This is my seventh visit to Middleton House,as always a most comfortable and enjoyable stay. The en-suite room was spotlessly clean,very well equipped and warm. Well cooked and tasteful meals, an ideal location for the town and the showground.Nothing is too much trouble, i highly recommend Middleton House you will not be disappointed.
