Proper pub just off the A303 in Somerset. Offers a good value carvery, choice of 3 meats and a nut roast. A Butcombe Brewery house, so had a pint of Original bitter, which I remember from when it was first brewed. Ah, nostalgia. Dog friendly, spacious outdoor areas, staff excellent. Recommended!

Food wasn't nice .had balsamic and oil with bread. Could only taste oil Had steak asked for medium to well done bottom was burnt said no tomatoes they cooked 4 they was that over done they looked like mushrooms .nearly eat one had stilton sauce could not taste the stilton and it was like water.hubby had lasagna he had to use my steak knife to cut the top of it. nearly all my food went back chips where dry .so the bread and mushrooms where my best bit.And no didnt say anything as I do not want people thinking I wanted a free meal or money off.And any good chef seeing nearly full plates coming back should know that the food wasn't good

Lovely little place halfway between Cornwall and London. Definitely recommend the pie!
