Lovely location with the bridge and the river. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Good food although the spare ribs could have been meatier and it would have been better if the chips had been triple cooked chunkier chips. Also it would have been good to have had more home-cooked desserts.

Stayed here for 1 night whilst we did the golden retriever experience. And what a lovely place it is. It’s an old fashioned country pub with beautiful views. We had both dinner and breakfast and both were amazing and extremely good value. The staff were friendly and helpful and we will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

I will just start by saying how picturesque the place is. It’s honestly looks like the country pub you’d like to find anywhere in the UK. Like a postcard. We initially tried booking for Wednesday night but it was fully book so we went there tonight instead. And we were so happy we did. We were greeted in a very friendly manner which was maintained by all staff throughout our evening. We were there with our son and our nephew and it’s always noted when the staff speak to the children (7 and 9) and not through us. The kids felt at ease and it adds a lot to to visit. The food was in very generous sized portions and tasted great too. Plenty on the menu to cater for all and although we didn’t have a pudding, the kids did and they were stoked when it arrived. If we lived locally, we would definitely come again but 3.5 hours drive is a bit excessive. Still, if we’re in this beautiful part of the world again we will come back. Thank you.

Great pub, friendly locals and good banter. Fantastic setting, good real ales and awesome food. Visited three times in four days it was that good highly recommend
