Newcastle Under Lyme Hotel

It needs some tlc rather run down but I found the staff very pleasant and helpful.

+Nice reception, generous parking area, free wi-fi - mold everyehere, rust and dust on windows, very dirty carpet. Definetly not a place to bring your childs.

I will firstly add I have only given one star because 0 wasn’t an option here. When you first walk in it appears lovely, lovely staff, very modern and clean looking, however it just gets better... I had a lovely pre shower all the way to my room by the many different areas of leaking roof, sorted! Why waste time in having a proper shower in the room right?! Once I walked over the collapsing floor boards outside my door way I was greeted with what I thought was a dead animal all over the floor... don’t worry guys, it wasnt, it was just masses of humans hair all over the awfully stained carpet, clearly hoovers are an underrated piece of kit here. Great way of saving the lecky! The sheets had a wonderful aroma of damp, and if pillows which resemble laying on a brick are your thing, then you are completely in luck! Don’t worry, you will not get cold in this hotel, the need to tuck your top into your trousers and your trousers into your socks to try and keep you a little bit clean is a good way to keep your body heat in! Another amazing thing about the room is the bathroom... when you have finished catching whatever god awful illness you are gonna catch from the room... there’s plenty of mould all around the bath to make sure you can make that much needed penicillin to make you all better, and if that doesn’t work... I’m sure if you just gently tug the ceiling above the bath that’s already half hanging down, it will collapse on you, knock you out and see you through till check out time! Happy days!

Honestly give it a wide berth the place is a shambles!! The staff are rude!! Clueless and genuinely don't care about you!! We came to our room from a night in town at 1:30am and the music from downstairs was banging we put up with but by 5:45am my wife had to ring the reception which the music was stopped instantly! When we approached the staff in the morning who where drinking alcohol while they where serving breakfast and walking around the hotel clueless I asked the lad serving breakfast why the music was on all night he said it was the staff because they had worked so hard that night short staffed they all deserved it! And bragging he hadn't been asleep yet!! When asking for a manager they said there wasn't one and no supervisor it's just a joke!! the bars had no change on them when u was ordering drinks! the breakfast was disgusting!! But the room was quite nice but please don't go and give it a wide berth!!!

Where to start. Can I firstly say this place looks nothing like it's picture on hotel sites. It is very dated and dirty looking. The car park is overgrown with bushes and weeds. The decor in the lobby is below average and the rooms is just terrible. No ventilation either and the rooms at the back of the hotel in the summer hit 30 degrees. Room cards need 'recharging' daily if you want to get into your room?! Yes it's cheap but it's certainly not cheerful. Depressing place. Avoid if possible.
