Nice clean reception area. Met with colleagues for a quick drink before heading out for food. Some colleagues are there with no complaints.

Very handy for the Snowdome, which is right next door (it shares the same carpark) and right next to beautiful nature reserve. Clean and comfortable room and helpful staff. Breakfast, due to social distancing, was a paper bag with a yoghurt, Belvita bars, mini choc muffin, croissant with jam and butter, carton of oj and a piece of fruit, but you could order a sausage or bacon bap from a member of staff. Hot drinks also available from a self serve machine. I originally booked through Booking.com for £75ish and out of curiosity I checked nearer the time and found it just under £20 cheaper, so cancelled the original booking and immediately booked and paid for the cheaper tariff with no issues. Parking validated in reception.

We stayed at The Holiday Inn Express in Tamworth for a few days recently for a family visit to Drayton Manor and the Snow Dome. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the area, has plenty of parking and is situated on the edge of a peaceful lake, making it easy to forget its central location. It is also a few minutes’ walk from Namco Funscape which has an arcade, bowling, soft play and crazy golf as well as a nice family restaurant. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we experienced customer service that would be befitting a 5 star resort, despite the obvious challenges that the staff are experiencing due to COVID19, Jordan and his colleagues remained professional, warm and good humoured. Some of the behaviour we witnessed from other guests towards the staff was appalling, you would think that they had booked the Hilton not the Holiday Inn Express but the team seemed to take it in their stride and continued on with their great service regardless and in the words of my 8 year old “were doing an amazing job” despite clearly being rushed off their feet. We can not fault this budget hotel for great value and brilliant service and will definitely be returning.

Great location with lots of local amenities nearby such as the Snowdome, bowling alley, swimming, climbing wall, as well as a lovely local park and the castle gardens. The castle is within walking distance too. Friendly helpful staff and a nice quiet stay.
