I have recently relocated here and this practice came highly recommended and having now had experience of their treatment, wholeheartedly agree. As a new patient the usual new patient appointment was not given but I have had cause to attend twice and ask for a repeat prescription once. All the staff and doctors (the two i have seen) have been fabulous. I wasn’t grilled when I rang to ask for an appointment, in fact the reception staff could not have been more helpful. The two GPS I saw were both efficient and polite and I didn’t feel I was just another statistic. I’ve also had a consultation with the pharmacist and she was charming and really helpful. It makes you realise just how poor the service we had both had in the past was. I don’t think the people of such a big town realise what they have here. I lived in a village yet the service I have received recently knocks spots off them. Well done to all of the staff. You are a credit to your town.

OMG How long does it take to get a prescription off the shelf???. Other pharmacies have long been able to avoid this "cooling off period" when a prescription takes a minimum of 20 minutes to address regardless of what it contains. The lady serving has no urgency about her and dawdles around while the queue snakes round the waiting area. 0 for effort in this department. 2 stars for the actual surgery where the doctors can be very brusque and snappy.....we are not all dimwits thanks.

Avoid, chaotic, unprofessional, and dishonest. The manager of the practice is a coward and will not return calls when requested, stating staff haven't given messages, manager didnt have a clue what she was talking about and was just clearly making things up as she goes along. When challenged hid behind "I'm not willing to talk to you because of the behaviour". I could go on !!! Avoid at all costs.

Very friendly staff, always looking to help the patients! Really easy to book appointments either at the reception or over the phone. Every time I've come to Orchard Medical Practice, I've had great experience with both the doctors and nurses. And always nice to have a pharmacy, right on the doorstep! Plenty of parking spaces available for people who travel by car and a taxi drop-off, pick up at the front entrance. I've had few instances where the doctors were running behind (no more than 10-15 minutes), but this is rare and the practice was really busy on those days.

If you have a water infection then be prepared to wait a long time. They will NOT let a doctor have an appointment with you at the front desk. All they ask is that you take a urine sample with you to the office - then wait two working days for a result! Doctors have "dip tests" these show signs of infections within a few seconds. It is unbelievable that in this day we cannot use the doctors as they are intended! A urinalysis is simply an analysis of the urine. It is a very common test that can be performed in many health care settings, including doctors' offices, urgent care facilities, laboratories, hospitals, and even at home. A urinalysis test is performed by collecting a urine sample from the patient in a specimen cup. Usually only small amounts (30-60 mL) may be required for urinalysis testing. The sample can be either analyzed in the medical clinic or sent to a laboratory to perform the tests. Urinalysis is abbreviated UA. UA is in general easily available and relatively inexpensive. It is also a simple test and can provide many useful information about various diseases and conditions. Some physicians refer to urinalysis as "a poor man's kidney biopsy" because of the plethora of information that can be obtained about the health of the kidney or other internal diseases by this simple test.
