Just to balance the only other review on this site, my mother was moved from Ipswich Hospital to Bluebird Lodge this morning and I spoke to a receptionist to established that she had arrived and was OK. The lady who took my call was warm, friendly, helpful and completely professional. Three days later: I couldn't be more impressed by my mother's treatment. We have spoken to several members of staff now and without exception, they have been supportive, helpful and warm. Mum's treatment has been first class, with regular visits by nursing staff and physiotherapists. Her room is quiet and comfortable, and the quality (and choice) of food (prepared on the premises) superb.

I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff at Bluebird Lodge. They have been brilliant with my 92 year-old mum who was probably discharged too early from Ipswich Hospital. They answer the phone, have knowledge of the current situation and I have been very impressed so far.

Today I spoke with a receptionist on behalf of a client that I care for, his wife is currently in bluebird lodge. I must say that the receptionist I spoke to on 22/05/2018 came across as rude and abrupt. I am a young woman who can deal with that kind of rudeness (still shouldn't have to) but I'd hate to think how others may feel if spoken to the same way. Also quite patronising with no reason to be. I've heard others speak of the receptionists at bluebird lodge in a negative way because of how they've been spoken to and today I experienced it for myself. The basics of people skills in these "care" settings are far worse than what they used to be. What a shame
