We did the purple route on Saturday. It is a beautiful route but oh so muddy!! Stop off at the Countryman pub for a warming cup of coffee ☕ and a mince pie. We can recommend Knepp Castle grounds for a really good walk.
Really wonderful first trip to Knepp - finally! Easy to park, great map to follow. £5 parking all day or however long and lots of routes to walk and animals to see. Really loved it, got a feel for the space, saw a few animals and birds close up and lots at a distance. Will be back 😀
Having read the book about the project it was something that I wanted to come and see for myself and I wasn't disappointed.
Stayed for a couple nights in a bell tent and got a sweltering couple of days. Exploring the trails and coming back to cook meals over an open fire is just such a good way to get away from it.
Even if you just come for an afternoon of walking it's a big recomend from me.
Lots of lovely open spaces, saw Storks flying from a distance, red and roe dear plus wild boar. Lots of trails for long countryside walks.
This place is amazing. A worthy project and so much wildlife. Campsite is awesome. Would totally recommend if you love nature and walking.
