The consultants and staff have been very professional form the initial consultation process to the final surgery procedure and the follow up consultations and physiotherapy. The facilities on site at the clinic in Bromsgrove are exceptional and the support staff are excellent. I must commend my consultant Mr. Moholkar for his expert knowledge and the Total Knee Replacement which he carried out was magnificent and his attention post operation was excellent. I have found that the staff at DKC always have time to answer any issues and concerns that I have needed to be catered for. For anyone who has any problems with their knee or leg joint problems then I cannot recommend the Droitwich Knee Clinic more highly. David Wilkinson.

My knee problems started a few years ago, so I have been into the clinic many times in those years, culminating in a recent total knee replacement about 2 months ago. From a service perspective, it is so convenient and efficient to have all aspects of treatment from scans, to consultations to physio all under the one roof. Possibly one of the biggest factors in any recovery is the people who help you along the way. That can be the difference between a difficult experience and a great one. Each person I’ve dealt with has been kind, compassionate, listened to me and tailored all aspects of my care to meet my needs and situation. I’ve been kept fully informed every step of the way too, so I’ve never been unsure of “what happens next”. I cannot recommend the clinic more highly. 5 stars is simply not enough. Thank you EVERYONE at DKC aka BPC. P.S. loved the hot chocolate too.

VAL CARR – RIGHT KNEE FULL REPLACEMENT For twenty years, I have suffered with severe pain in first, my right knee, and then the left knee also became painful. I was told I was too young at 40 to have any knee surgery, and I undertook some treatment privately to washout out both knees to have better mobility. Since 2007, I had been diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting MS, and any knee surgery was firstly refused because the knees were not in a poor enough condition to warrant surgery, and as the pain got worse I asked for some help though my doctor and was referred to the R.O.H., in 2013. The pain was so severe that I struggled to walk, and I was reliant on two crutches, and I was in receipt of the full P.I.P payment after an assessment at home. I received physiotherapy, ultra-articular injections, gym sessions and an appointment with a consultant, who told me “I was not normal”. After this Consultant had informed me of his opinion which I believed to be very negligent, I requested a second opinion, followed by a lengthy process with pain management, and eventually a second opinion to be told it is not recommended as the operation may not be successful due to my condition of Relapsing Remitting MS, irrespective of the severe pain, and reliance on opioid medication. I researched Mr Kirti Moholkar at the Droitwich Knee Clinic, and after much deliberation Mr Kirti Moholkar agreed to perform the operation, although his colleagues at the R.O.H., were not in support. On Tuesday 10th September 2019, I entered the R O H hospital for a right knee replacement, I was greeted on my arrival and immediately put at ease. The team were very efficient and gave me every consideration which provided me with reassurance that I was in the right hands. It was a “well-oiled machine” and everyone knew what was expected, and they all delivered. I had a local anaesthetic instead of a general anaesthetic so that I was more aware after the operation, and I felt as though I had not had a major procedure such as a total Knee Replacement. Knowing the concerns as I am living with Multiple Sclerosis, and Mr Kirti Moholkar was instrumental in taking on this task that to many other Orthopaedic Consultants as a step too far, together with my determination, I am now free from pain, and well on the way to full recovery. The aftercare was excellent, including the inhouse physiotherapy, which had my knee bending 110 degrees by the third day. My knee pain caused by osteoarthritis had diminished, and the only pain left was surgical pain. Of course, the left knee is still affecting my mobility, but with a stronger right knee I can get about using two walking sticks, as opposed to Two Crutches, and am occasionally walking with no support over short distances and using walking sticks when travelling further, or when I tire. I have now been discharged from Physiotherapy after 9 weeks and I am now looking to my appointment with Mr Kirti Moholkar to discuss the possibility of a knee replacement of my left knee, which was approximately 90% as bad as my right knee. If the result of my left knee is as good as my right knee, I will be over the moon! I believe as would the team of medical professionals that worked for me and with me when I had my right knee replaced. Of course, I know that I must do the same amount of rehabilitation work or more to encourage my full recovery. I have been told my demeanour is so much more positive since my right knee was replaced, who knows how my demeanour will look after the second knee replacement. Onwards and Upwards.
