We booked an executive double room for 1 night. This hotel is *very* tired and in serious need of a refit to bring it up to standard. Feels a bit like stepping back 20 years. Firstly, the bad bits: Noise from the motorway was audible all night to varying degrees and the room was pretty cold - even though we had the heating on and was supplied with an additional portable heater. The bed was a double (don't expect a king!) and was uncomfortable - feeling as though it was about to collapse in the middle. There were multiple cleanliness issues including dead flies and mould in the bathroom (see pics). I'm also not sure what qualifies this room to be 'executive' as it was pretty basic and not particularly comfortable. The good bits: We didn't eat breakfast, although the restaurant/bar looked like it had been renovated recently. The pool/ spa are also nice features to have but we didn't get a chance to use them on this occasion. Covid measures are in place and are being followed which is very reassuring. The price was also very good (around £45) which is comparable to Holiday Inn Express or Premier Inn prices - however being a full line Holiday Inn you do expect a bit more for your money. Overall we were pretty disappointed with our stay - especially when compared to most other Holiday Inns we've stayed in. It was very obvious that the staff were making the most of what they had and we cannot fault them, but the hotel needs serious work before I'd consider coming again.

Awful hotel probably the worst in the holiday inn group

We didn't stay!! Booked a family room for 3 nights at a cost of £308 with Breakfast. So reasonably priced we thought. But our room was grubby with ripped wallpaper and sticky finger marks on most things. The bathroom was horrible (I wish I had taken photos) The sofa bed my children were going to sleep in was filthy. I dont think it had ever been cleaned. I didn't expect 5* for that price but that was beyond a joke. We ended up staying at premier inn just up the road. which was basic but lovely and clean, and half the price!

Room was clean although the toilet seat was broken and room service were very stingy with toilet roll (ended up having to go to reception at 9pm to get some more). Appeared to have the whole Covid setup in place and under control.
