After many weeks in hospital my 89-year-old aunt was in a very frail mental and physical state, to such a degree that we could not find a nursing home near us that were able to help her. In the end we had no option but to accept a council placement in her home county. Pauline was going to Chandos Lodge in Slough, in the middle of the pandemic and a long distance from her family. However, all our worries were unfounded, as the level of care she received and the re-assurance we were given was excellent, from day one. Ricardo the manager and Iona the head nurse, together with the rest of the staff @ Chandos Lodge could not do more to help Pauline. They kept us regularly informed of her progress and fought on our behalf for the professional medical attention she so needed, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the exemplary care Pauline received, her health has now improved to such an extent she has now been accepted into a care home near us and is on the road to full recovery.
We were rushed into finding a care home for my 95 year old Mother who suffers from the dreaded Alzheimer's disease. Although it was traumatic to take her out of her beloved home she has been and continues to be well looked after by the caring staff and accommodating management.
As self funders the charges are reasonable and for anybody looking for a safe and happy environment for the twilight years of their loved ones lives I am more than happy to recommend Chandos. The recent guests Christmas party was excellent!
Our mother Olive has just had respite care at Chandos Lodge. We would like to thank all staff for the the wonderful care, compassion and dedication shown to mum and also very evident to other residents residing at the home. All meals served were to a very high standard and catered to individual needs. More importantly in the car our mother said she was very happy there. Should our mum ever have to move into a care home Chandos Lodge would be our first choice. Thankyou once again.
