No problems with the site itself. Large site set in woodland and lovely surrounding area, with plenty of walks directly from the site. Pub within walking distance. Due to the place being so busy we only managed to secure a non-awning pitch so when we booked in on arrival I asked if it was ok to erect a windbreak. The friendly and helpful female staff said that was fine. No sooner put it up and the male warden came over complaining that technically it was an awning and we shouldn’t have put it up. I explained that we had asked permission, not one to give up, he then complained about how far we’d parked the car away from the windbreak and therefore needed to move it. We were going off site anyway so no problem. Next day he complained again about the car -it’s a fairly large car and the poles to the windbreak were on the outside so we couldn’t get it any closer. Was a lovely stay but slightly marred by Mr Jobsworth.
What a fantastic site with good size pitches. Set in woodland on the site of an old gunpowder mill. Right by the river with great walks in all directions.
Well run site. Great welcome by friendly staff. Really good spread of facilities around the site, including chemical loo disposal points so not too far to go for that necessity.

Lovely caravan club site. Really enjoy staying here. Not far from the pub. Kendal town centre 10 minutes by car.
