We have been for a meal at the Red Lion, have had a take out for the family and we have had their take out pizza.
The meals are not just bog standard pub meals. There is lovely selection of meals to choose from and they are each made with an eye to detail in terms of presentation and taste. Fresh herbs and delicious flavour combinations. The staff are very polite and efficient.
Their home made bread is delicious and expect proper olives if you choose them for your starter.
With lockdown we have had a family take away too. Everything is boxed in paper recyclable boxes. The meals were of the same excellent standard as when we went for dinner at the pub. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals!
We tried their wood fired pizza last Saturday and again were not disappointed! Pizza is our favourite meal and they were delicious. The pizzas were very big so the girls and I had pizza for lunch the next day too. It had lovely fresh herbs on it and the crust is exactly like I have had in Italy on holiday.
As a family we wholeheartedly recommmend the staff and the food at the Red Lion!
Great old pub, the beers they brew are excellent and the brewer took the time to talk to me about the process despite being very busy. The barman was great with my daughter, and the takeaway chips were great. They were served piping hot which meant they were still hot after walking back to the campsite. Make sure you book in advance if you want to eat in or take food away.
Lovely pint for thirsty walkers
We went to the Gourmet night last night. Absolutely fantastic!! The food was incredible and such a huge amount of work must have into cooking all the brilliant dishes.
It was a wonderful night. Thank you.
Lovely pub by Stanton Moor. Good fresh ciabatta with salt beef and pickle for lunch here. Brew their own beer too.
