Fantastic! We stayed in Hartington and booked a meal online at the Devonshire. The booking hadn't gone through and they were now fully booked on the night we'd chosen. So we explained and well what can we say. They bent over backwards to accommodate us and what a wonderful time we had. They were short staffed too and Steve the Manager was cooking. What a fabulous meal, the chicken and mushroom pie with mash and veg was delicious! Followed by cheese and biscuits. Everyone was working so hard, yet they still had time to help us out. Such a friendly, professional place. Next time we will also book to stay at the Devonshire Arms. Thank you. Chris and Sharon.

It was the day before the 2nd lockdown and food was disappearing from the menu, but the hostess was so pleasant and welcoming and apologetic about everything. All things considered we enjoyed our meal of chicken & mushroom pie with mash (no chips left!) and peas. I think everyone after us was offered starters or sandwiches. I take my hat off to this lovely team who made our visit as pleasant as possible.

Having just left there after having lunch we were very disappointed with the food. The scampi was lovely but the chips unfortunately were terrible more like scraps. The cod which our son had looked like it had been cooked twice and very greasy and had about half a dozen chips with it left him still hungry . The lad who served us Adam, was very apologetic and ordered replacements and did give us a discount. We were going to have deserts but decided against it. Thanks to Adam who handled our situation very well and credit to him.

This pub used to be lovely. Not sure what happened ! Should have kept it as a good old public house. Didn't eat here so can't comment on that one.

Excellent 2 night stay over the August bank holiday weekend 2020. Everybody very friendly and accommodating even when very busy. Would definitely recommend stay in the beautiful village of Harrington.
