We had our first holiday at Bramwell Cottage in June (2013), on the recommendation of my brother who told us Youlgrave was his favourite Derbyshire village. We can understand why, for it is right in the middle of gorgeous walks, so that many days we didn't need to use the car to find a starting place for our rambles. The cottage is delightful with a well-tended garden of beautiful flowers. The bedroom windows have views to the other side of Bradford Valley, very lush with masses of trees. A 'find' for us was Caudwell's Mill, Rowsley, under three miles away, where we had several lunches served with imaginative salads. Also handy for both Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. A peaceful and restorative cottage - and we are planning another visit.
