Fantastic staff. Came in with my daughter who had a pulled arm. 2 ladies with dark pony tails and a man in a and e were so good. My daughter calls the man the chocolate man! They fixed her and sent her on her way no problem. I'm sure that 2 of these staff were there at her birth as well. Thank you so much x

I cannot praise the staff in the Endoscopy dept highly enough. All of them were so very kind & reassuring. The procedure i had went very smoothly & the staff were wonderful. I was treated with respect & kindness from the moment I entered the hospital to the time I left. Very impressive in every way

I had a followup appointment after a very recent operation. All the staff were friendly, polite, professional and understanding as always. Everybody wore masks, as per covid19 guidelines and kept people at a distance where possible. The removal of my stitches was not a walk in the park. But the nurses and consultant were great. Thank you all very much for your time and care as always..

In 2013 I was rushed in here after a leg infection from a previous operation resurfaced after five years . The doctors here warned me that they might amputate. I declined to sign the consent form and asked to be transferred to the Northern General in Sheffield where they sorted me without cutting off my leg. The quality of treatment always depends on how good the doctor is. ALWAYS question and seek a second opinion. My opinion of the Royal remains jaundiced. My friend had a stroke and was moved here from the Hallamshire specialist stroke ward for physiotherapy. The Sheffield doctors said it could be done at the Royal just as well as anywhere. None was given in that first important critical week. He was swiftly written off by the Royal doctors, given but a few weeks to live at best, and with unseemly haste shuffled out of their hands into a nursing home for end of life care. Their given use-by-date was several months ago and he remains embarrassingly alive. Despite requests, no useful physiotherapists have shown up in the meantime and now it is probably too late for remedial physiotherapy.

My Nan was here for a little while and while she was the staff were fantastic. It was far from an easy time for us but they made it better. Fantastic care. If you are visiting someone then I advise you to come on the bus as the large car park can still get full quite quickly.
