The young lady behind the bar was lovely with good service
Bunch o fun . Covid control brilliant
What an absolute shame. This externally-beautiful pub sits in a prominent position in the centre of Spondon. Full of character on the outside looking over the bustling trade and commerce of Sitwell Street. Looking at it, it has all the hallmarks of a true 'village' pub. Unfortunately the interior decor and cleanliness is truly appalling and both totally fail this pub. Firstly the decor -- it does absolutely no justice to the building, rendering it a dark and dingy hole with no character, interest or taste. It is in desperate need of a refurb if only to replace the stained carpets and walls. As for the cleanliness, my last visit filled my nose with the smell of cannabis at the bar which changed as I used the bathroom, where I was greeted with the stench of stale urine. Spondon deserves a far better pub than the current White Swan. Rated two stars only because the ale was good.
Full of ppl standing round the bar cant get a drink
Friendly landlord and very good Exmoor Gold. Would mark it higher if there was more real ale.
