We had a lovely stay in Barn Cottage, the hosts (not on site) were welcoming and responsive. There were nice touches with beautiful flowers and starter pack of essentials. The Barn has been very tastefully refurbished with great quality fixtures/fittings/appliances etc and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The location is great assuming you are looking for rural and lots of trails and walks from the doorstep. Would not hesitate to book again.

Really nice cottage in a great location - perfect base for a mountain bike or walking holiday. Less than a mile to the nearest pub, but in a very quiet location. Very tasteful decor with high quality fittings. Everything here that you need for a great holiday - nice touches like supplying bread, eggs, etc and even dishwasher tablets. Comfortable bed, excellent shower. Very highly recommended.

We recently stayed at Barn Cottage, Hayfield which was absolutely amazing. The Barn has been beautifully renovated by Jenny and Duncan to such a high standard and we were fortunate to be able to stay in this luxurious setting for a few days, which was really lovely. No detail has been overlooked and it is definitely one of the best places we have ever rented. The rooms are all of a good size and fits 4 adults in comfortably. Jenny kindly left us bread, eggs, butter, coffee, tea and milk, which was very welcome for our arrival. It’s perfectly placed for numerous walks in and around Kinder Scout. It’s a very short walk into the quaint village of Hayfield with its cafes, pubs, restaurants and beautiful river. Even though it didn’t stop raining for our entire stay, it didn’t stop us walking every day, as you can’t do anything about the UK weather, we’ll just have to come back when it’s dry. We didn’t get to climb Kinder Scout but that’ll be top of our list for our next stay. We had a brilliant time and would recommend it highly, especially lovely to see the gorgeous sheep.

Barn Cottage is truly welcoming. We spent a long weekend and were overwhelmed by the tranquility and beauty. The cottage had all the comforts of home and more-a really comfy bed, fluffy white towels and dressing gowns, beautiful decorative touches and a really exciting ‘constant boiling water tap ‘for making teas and coffees. We were able to do amazing walks straight from the cottage door and enjoyed making friends with the small holding’s sheep and geese in the field opposite. The sheep loved having their heads rubbed and the geese liked us to feed them grass. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed in Barn Cottage in August 2020 as part of a climbing trip to Peak District. The cottage had recently been renovated and it was done to a very high standard. As well as a wood burning stove, comfy sofas and tons of rustic charm, the cottage also had nice premium touches, such as instant boiling water and floor to ceiling windows. Our host, Duncan, showed us around his farm, located next to the cottage with sheep, geese and more on the way. Great stay, five stars!
