Good food friendly staff busy but still socially distanced
One can compare it to when George Best was in Bed with two Page 3 Stunners, Money all Over his Bed, Bottle of Champagne & his Agent came up to his room & infamously said "Oh dear George where did IT ALL GO WRONG"? And that sums up The Bowd to a Tee. My advice is simple drive past & head towards Sidmouth there's enough there for plenty of 5 star reviews⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
Food was excellent and the staff was very bubbly, it was a pleasure to drop in bearing in mind it was a spur of the moment decision. will be back without a doubt.
Lovely pub in a lovely place but the service was poor. Staff were trying their best but dirty glasses, one meal not arriving and rude, inexperienced managers led to our first bad holiday meal. Would not recommend!
Think if our dinner was put down with any more force it would qualify as being thrown at us. Had to go and ask for desserts and drinks as nobody came to serve us. Keep turning up to this pub naively expecting an atmosphere which isn't there anymore. Gave them an extra star in respect of the ribs they do which are, to my knowledge, some of the best in the UK. Those ribs are currently not being served due to corona. Another casualty.
