Mazzard Farm holiday cottages

Our cottage was perfectly equipped with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner and his family were very friendly, always available to help and gave us many tips and recommendations to make the most of our time in Ottery St Mary. We recommend ordering the breakfast hamper. The cottage is walking distance from the centre of Ottery St Mary and there is a lovely farm shop nearby where you can stock up on fresh local produce. If you are in the area we also recommend you book Tony’s Taxis.

Really good stay. Come rain or shine this place deserves stars. Owners were very accommodating and welcoming. Food great! Farm fun and loads more walks// activities if we’d stayed longer. Good value for money, bring all the family!

Peace on earth in East Devon. A wonderful collection of cottages around a courtyard that have everything you need to make it home from home. The silence around Mazzard Farm is wonderful and is only broken by bird song. The location is far enough from town, but near enough to drive to do a shop, or collect a take away. I would certainly return to Mazzard Farm and next time spend more time exploring the grounds and really enjoying the time to stop and unwind

The wonderful welcome started long before we arrived with quick, clear communication and tonnes of useful information about the surrounding area provided ahead of our arrival. As is to be expected in rural Devon, there was some nervy driving along small country roads to get to the property and the parking was on a dirt layby instead of in a car park but all very manageable and what you would expect from a country location. It is a minimum 15 minute drive to get to much of anything in the way of amenities or attractions. Again, I think this is to be expected when booking a farm stay. Upon arrival the cottage was clean, quaint and cozy. It is rustic but with all amenities that we wanted plus anything we could possibly need for our 18 month old available on request (cot, high chair, baby monitor, baby gates etc). The kitchen, while definitely not packed with brand new appliances, was fully equipped and easy to cook in (and the local Indian Restaurant was delicious and a quick and easy delivery to the property on the night we didn't feel like cooking). The property is lovely with a big central courtyard and a picnic table for your own private outdoor dining. Our little guy loved visiting the goats and chickens, playing on the climbing frame and making use of the well-stocked toy shed. We visited during COVID and felt that they were extremely diligent and thorough in their precautionary measures.

A fabulous family weekend in celebration of a birthday. The six cottages worked really well in accommodating different family groups and were each beautifully decorated, maintained and had everything that we needed. We would highly recommend the complex and location. Our hosts were super too. Thank you for all your efforts and see you soon.
