Dating back to 1748, Exeter Dissenters' Graveyard has been restored by volunteers in the last few years. The restoration has been a great success in revealing many of the graves of those buried here over the centuries. However the removal of all the trees has somewhat reduced the charm of the place.
The histories of those buried in the graveyard are fascinating and help to illuminate the life of Exeter, particularly in relation to the free-thinkers and unconventional people of the past.
