Joined the surgery a month ago and haven't been able to book an appointment despite calling everyday and waiting for a minimum of 20 minutes each time. Absolutely shocked why a surgery like this is allowed to be open. Word of advise.... Take the time and find a decent surgery
I had to abandon call to the doctors the first time and eventually on the second one after 20 minutes I got through. Very calmly and politely I told the receptionist that they needed more staff and with that she put the phone down on me. I will be reporting this to the Practice Manager. I bet she wouldn't do that working in the private sector!
I usually get through fairly quickly on the phone.When I round to ask something desk staff always helpful.
Got a message that I needed a blood test. Soonest appointment was 2 weeks ahead. Went for said appointment this morning. Arrived 10 mins early only for the receptionist to tell me "sorry, your appointment is cancelled as the phlebotomist is sick"! I repeat, this was when I arrived at the surgery, no phone call so I wouldn't have to make the trip!....It's hard to believe that in a big practice there is only ONE person who can take blood!!! I said that I would come back tomorrow then, assuming because as they cancelled I would be at the front of the queue, but no, I have to make a new appointment which is now in another 2 weeks! Luckily it's not life threatening😡😡 Sadly this waiting for treatment or appointments has become common practice here.
Never answearing the phone. They sit there and chit chat, do nothing. The doctors are fine, but the reception is just a few super lazy woman going in to have a tea and fun all day without do anything.
