This review is written shortly after the pub reopened after the Covid lockdown. We booked a table for lunch. There is only one entrance open currently. You are met and taken to your table, which I believe is yours for up to 2 hours. Tables are really spaced out and in that regard felt really safe. Brains, this is a Brians pub, want you to use their app. however, if you are a ludite like my wife and I it takes a long time to set this up, in fact a member of staff came and kindly took our drinks order while we were downloading. This begs a question if they can take the drinks order could they have not taken the food order? We managed finally to download the app and ordered food. The food as ever at the Hanbury is very good pub grub, the chocolate brownie comes in a mini pan and is delicious. Staff were great and made us feel very safe. Only downside is they currently only have SA and Rev James on draft, as a camra member I would like a little more choice.

The food was delicious and the service (while it took longer than expected due to the pandemic) was good and everyone I dealt with was cordial. I would definitely go there again

Soulless and cold. For a building with beautiful original features and a river location it's a real shame.
