Stayed at sycamore lodge for a couple of nights and it was lovely. Beautiful lodge with a hot tub round back. Spotless inside and with everything you could need. Will be going again.
I didn't hate the place. It just wasn't what it said it was. The website is yrs out of date. So there is no free golf if your staying there. Building site round the very small fishing pond so no relaxing fishing unless you go early in the morning and pack up when the builders start. Avoid lodge number 2.... the cleaners do! It seems everything has been got from the local car boot pans with no lids.. lids with no pans. No freezer in a lodge that sleeps up to 8 ppl only the ice box in the fridge which had that much ice in we couldn't fit a box of fish fingers in it. Dirty oven ( we didn't use it) broken, stained and dirty blinds. The toaster was broke but we did receive a brand new one within 2 days. Dirty stained mattress ( I slept on the sofa) broken utensils..... I could go on but I'm bored now! I'd recommend you go look round for yourself if your thinking of staying here. I'm sure not all the lodges can be like this one. We were just unlucky!
So peaceful and partner loves the fishing, this is the third year coming. A nice break from the rat race.
Well maintained quiet site. Great for a get away from it all holiday. Good attractions within a short distance.
Spent two nights here and absolutely enjoyed it. The cottage was great! Big, clean, and nicely decorated. The hot-tub was amazing, functioned well and was warm all the time. It was being maintained every morning by staffs. The environment was also beautiful, not something exceptional but enough for a couple of relaxing days! It was quite clean and bins were emptied regularly by bin men.
My only suggestion is that in contrast to my experience with other similar places, there was not enough toilet paper, kitchen towels, and hand wash in place. For just two nights and with only four people, we had to go for a shop to get enough of this stuff which was a little disappointing. But overall, I do recommend it!!
