Have to say, the quality of service by staff is always cracking and that's the difference - and you've space in this store. (Still a bit more speny than elsewhere though)

Today was my first trip here since the onset of the pandemic. The staff were not wearing masks or visors despite being on the shop floor with no separation, two were standing nattering with no social distancing at all. It was quiet being 7pm. The store has markings etc to guide people but some of the shoppers that were present did not seem to bother about this. The number of customers without face coverings was quite shocking, two examples , a female @35-45years, @ 5' 10" with a good average build looking in good health carrying heavy shopping with no face coverings at all, 2nd example was a family in men's wear, the parents in their 50-60s and a son late teens early 20s. The father was wearing a mask, the son had one on but below his chin not covering his mouth or nose, the mother nothing!. Why the mother was there I don't know, she wasn't interacting with the men who were shopping. This woman then walked straight into my path and ignored me when I suggested she should social distance. I then asked a staff member, who again was not wearing face coverings, if I could try a pair of shoes on sitting on the stools set aside for this purpose. He said yes and hovered over me. The mother of this family then walked right past me again and sat down on the stools beside me, she had no inclining of what social distancing meant. In the end I had to get up and with one new shoe on and holding everything else hopped off and sat on the jeans display to put my own shoes back on and left the store, disappointed, distressed and angry. Until the shop enforces social distancing and challenge those not wearing or incorrectly wearing face masks I shall not return. Shame on the shoppers and shame on M&S for not protecting those like me with underlying health conditions.

Most disappointing. Looking for clothes in the larger sizes for over 70's. Absolutely nothing. My sister in law wanted new bra's. Again nothing to suit an 80 year old, size 12-14. Absolutely nothing. What a wasted journey from Luton when we used to have a perfectly good store which you shut down. Lucky I still drive but not everyone has that luxury. We then joined a long line for the cafe. Some people had taken their shopping trolley in with them while others started leaving them outside. I thought that's what I would do albeit I rely on the trolley to get about. We were told quite rudely by a member of staff we couldn't leave the trolley there and to take our shopping out and she would get rid of the trolley!! I explained that I needed the trolley to finish my shopping so was asked hadn't I got a walking stick!! It beggar's belief that some people were allowed to take their trolley in but I wasn't allowed. I'd already struggled to stand in the queue for ages waiting to be served (No problem with the cafe staff by the way). This lady could see I had a problem and she just wasn't interested. Lucky for me I had a fit and healthy 83yr old with me who was able to go back outside and get me another trolley. Won't be rushing back there for clothes or the cafe.
