Very peaceful. Toilets only cleaned once a day during stay. They are also in desperate need of upgrading
Nice quiet campsite on the edge of the peak district
Just back from a nine night stay. Excellent size pitches. Facilities basic (only one shower in Ladies and Gents) but water warm and everything clean. Really good quality loo roll too.
All campers will appreciate this very welcome touch! Will be going back.
This site is well situated for exploring Derbyshire, Sheffield and the Peak district. When we visited there had been quite a lot of rain and the site was basically a bog! Other campers had set up camp wherever they could without getting stuck in the mud, making access tricky for everyone else. The only entrance road is about 1/2 mile long, narrow, undulating and more potholes than The Somme. Avoiding the potholes was impossible, especially with a caravan, and by moving close to the edge of the lane to straddle the biggest ones it put you into the brambles which scratch both your car and van. None of this was mentioned when we booked and if we had known in advance we wouldn't have gone. Otherwise lovely.
Tent pegs didn't even go in 2 inches so tent nearly collapsed in wind
