I visited last year with a friend. it was great. Came back with family. Inedible vegan burger which seemed to be a flattened uncooked mash, it fell apart, was cold and didn't seem to have any definition and seemed to me to be like a mashed bean uncooked patty. Chips were a mix. Most were undercooked and very large, some tasted like recooked old chips and tasted off. Onion rings were undercooked and dripping with oil, a slick shot out of one and poured over my shorts in a sudden gush. The onion rings and halloumi were very very oily, as if they were cooked in oil which hadn't been heated fiurst, or that they had been left to sit without being properly drained after cooking - then reheated... as such there was a lot of oil retention. The jacket potato was partially cold too, which suggests it was cooked in the microwaves, my son commented that it was warm in parts but mainly colder than room temperature. Service was not great, had to ask for things several times. The food was presented well but badly cooked.

The staff are super helpful, and as we all know service is everything. They let me order ahead when I was going to be late arriving which was really nice of them. They do good tasty food at the right price. Basic but spacious and clean rooms. Gorgeous views.

Only had one nights stay . BUT fantastic.lovely clean room . Brilliant staff. The breakfast best ever. Same as evening meal. Can't wait to come back and stay longer .

Used the staycation deal on offer this weekend, I've stopped here a few times for a coffee or swift pint when passing on my mountain bike rides, but never thought about staying here because I only live about 15 minutes down the road, but with the travel restrictions in place due to cv19 I thought we'd take advantage of the offer and enjoy whats on our doorstep, the weather could have been better so we could have enjoyed a nice walk through the valley but it still didn't stop us enjoying the veiws from the bar and our rooms, truelly stunning location, the staff were brilliant and the service in the evening of our meal was top draw, we're not talking silver service here, but warm welcoming and friendly, overall our stay was very much enjoyed, only reason I havent given it a 5star is there's no toiletries or iron in the room, small things, an iron was available from reception if required. I'd recommend a stay here to any of my family and friends, definitely be returning for food and drinks in the future.
