Hawks place has been our annual get away with the kids and friends for a few years now , it’s clean and tidy , the owners are lovely , we love the freedom you get with this campsite site and the great location , we will see you again next year .

Rubbish for tents. The ground is flat which is good but putting pegs into the ground was horrific. Nothing but rocks. Not ideal when you're right on the coast with 40mph winds. Shower is nice and hot but only 1 cubicle and only 1 toilet for M & F so don't be desperate for a pee all at once. It was very very quiet despite being near a train line. It's definitely suited for caravans and not campers.

Lovely site..clean toilets. Lady was cleaning throughout the day. We did not find a problem. and shower good..reception held good information ideal location to explore..we only stayed 3 days and wished we had stayed the week. We will be booking on again...could do with dog bins on route to beach..other dog owners left used poo bags on pathway that me and my husband picked up and disposed of..the few ruining for everyone else.. ..andrea & Audie

The campsite is lovely! It’s very relaxed - self-check in and out. The toilets and shower are proper facilities and are very clean, and the reception room has a communal sink and kettle. The campsite is very very small, but I’d class this as a good thing as it means there’s never much noise, and you are never far from the toilet block. The location is great: it’s a 2 minute walk from the beach (it’s not the worlds nicest beach but there’s a nicer beach a little way down), and there’s a lovely coastal cycle path on top of the hill just above the beach which is a lovely 20 minute walk to Birchington in one direction, and to Minnis Bay in the other. I’d recommend bringing bikes, as, whilst the walk into Birchington is lovely, it’s quite a way away if you want to grab something from the shop, and it could be a very easy trip on a bike. Overall, the campsite is good, if only maybe a bit basic, and is a bargain price - would recommend highly! My only issue would be that it felt almost a little too informal in the sense that we never met the owner of the campsite at any point in our stay, and also the “reception” is a bit gross (it’s just a glorified wooden box with some mouldy chairs in it), but you don’t really even have to go in there.

Hawk place Campsite was a good basic little site. Facilities were limited but adequate, all kept clean with regular cleaning throughout the day. There are electric pitches for tents, campers and caravans. Arrival has self check in so if you like a meet and greet this is not for you. Plum Pudding Stables adjoin the site so you will need to like the smell of horses. The site is 5 minutes walk from the Viking shore path, with easy cycling to Minnus Bay or Reculver Castle. Great short stay in a quiet well kept site. 3 nights July 2020.
