Great lockdown treat from a place that until a couple of days ago, I had no idea existed. When we ordered, we expected it to be busy as some if the items had already been removed from the site. We did get an hour delay on our order, however it was more than made up for by a call from the restaurant explaining why plus a free bottle of wine to say sorry! The food was excellent and the portions were great. When the country opens up again, I’m going to visit this place for another amazing experience

7 staff in this place and 1 person taking the drinks orders with a queue out of the door. A decent manager could sort this place out but it doesn't work. They didn't have any of the normal drinks we asked for and they served what we had in plastic (which i bet they binned) Just wasn't worth the hassle for such a poor experience.

I came to the pod on a Saturday night for a few drinks but was disappointed with the choice of drinks. My fiancé wanted a glass of rose wine and there was only one sweet rose wine which she doesn’t like, the only other choice was a white Pinot by the glass or Sauvignon blanc by the bottle which was no good, so she couldn’t have what she wanted and settled for a glass of merlot. Then to make things worse they then poured the wine into a short plastic cup instead of a wine glass! I know things have changed because of COVID but we’ve been out in Newport and Cardiff and all the other places we went had normal glasses so very disappointed with a plastic glass. On a positive there are more tables now which is good and this is still my favourite place in Newport to go, just a shame about the wine choice and plastic glasses.

Really tasty food from the eat out to help out menu so was an absolute bargain. Good bicycle parking outside and close enough to the outside tables that it was always visible. Missed a 5 star rating as there wasn't enough tables with shade from the sun.
