My girlfriend & I stayed here as a stopover when driving from Reading out to west Wales. It's a proper old style inn with a pub on the ground floor and the rooms upstairs. The staff were friendly, the beds were comfy, and the Welsh breakfast was excellent. The decor is really detailed and pays a lot of respect to the area's mining heritage. While its location is somewhat hidden down a narrow & windy road, it's well signposted from the main road and has a car park monitored by CCTV so you can stay out of the way of nearby residential parking. It was also very reasonably priced - around the same price you'd pay for staying in a Holiday Inn Express or Ibis budget on the edge of Cardiff, but this isn't that much further away from the capital if that's where you want to be, and the quality of food, room, and service is much, much better.

Enjoyed a stunning Christmas meal here, Gus and Alison run a wonderful service, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and welcoming as always, such a lovely local venue. Little hidden gem in the valleys. Very clean with very friendly staff and locals. Food in the restaurant was excellent with a very good selection. Bar snacks also very tasty. Have already recommended to family and friends and when back will definitely stay at the Little Crown.

Fabulous little pub. Fantastic food. All home made. Have been here a few times now. Beautiful decor with a mining theme. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Slight hiccup with booking as I had added one extra person at short notice so our original table wasn't big enough. We had to be reseated in another room, which took no time at all. No complaints about that as we had it to ourselves. Food was fantastic value for our Christmas lunch and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the Little Crown
