Love the Sweeney for many reasons including.....Staff are fabulous and attentive. Rooms are all unique and very comfortable. Meals are always high quality with plenty of interesting choices. The grounds and gardens are charming. What is there not to like? We will be back 😍

The pods are amazing! Went for a Xmas meal and food was great and the service was excellent. The pod was warm and cosy. But if its a sunny day remember sun glasses!

Was treated to afternoon tea in one of their pods. It was lovely. They had a heater and blankets in there too. It is considered outdoor dining, so good for covid 19 restrictions. Service was excellent.

I love this place, the country setting is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and attentive. We stayed bed and breakfast and dined in the restaurant, room spotless, food first class, cannot wait to visit again. Couple of miles from Oswestry which is a lovely market town well worth a visit.

Honest and balanced 3* review left on Trip Advisor yesterday following a disappointing meal in the restaurant recently (copied below). However, following the management response which was rude and derogatory; did not address the issues highlighted (i.e. that the food was mediocre; the service was poor and their COVID safely precautions were not in line with our expectations), I now rate this a 2* customer experience. ‘’Ate in the restaurant last night as part of the Government’s eat out to help out scheme. The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location so was expecting the food and service to match. Sadly it didn’t - the food was good (not amazing), however the other small touches and safety precautions really let it down. Service was slow which was understandable as they were obviously busy from the eat out offer - we expected that and wasn’t a problem. It felt like they’d crammed as many tables/people in as possible though - I was sat less than 1m from a guy on the adjacent table! The restaurant when we left was pretty full so there was no way of keeping a safe 2m (or even 1m) distance from other diners passing through to the front door and toilets. The restaurant was also very cold - due to having to keep doors open as a safety precaution we were informed. Good to know they were adhering to advice but some heating would have been appreciated, it was freezing! Many diners were sat around the dining room in coats and jackets. Hand sanitiser was readily available but staff weren’t wearing masks (which may not be mandatory but a respectful gesture most restaurants have adopted) and there were no working hand dryers, paper towels or any other method of hand drying available in the ladies toilets. All in all quite disappointing given our expectations of a well respected restaurant in beautiful surroundings. Glad we only paid £36 for our starters and mains (plus 2 small drinks) rather than the normal £56!’’
