Excellent food, generous portions. We really enjoyed both our starters and mains. I was the only one who had room for 🍮which was also delicious

Visited two weeks ago and had a wonderful freshly cooked meal and service. Friendly atmosphere. Wonderful experience all round , however !!! So far removed from the experience we had today My husband had booked a table for two. Arrived and a lady shouted from the bar can I help you. My husband said yes we have booked a table for 4 pm was told your table is there as she pointed to a very small table alongside the entrance cold and no atmosphere but .... I hadn’t eaten all day so sat and didn’t ask to be moved. Menus were given and I was disappointed to see salmon was taken off the menu but that happens so ordered the super green salad with grilled chicken and a side of baby potatoes Our male waiter was a pleasure to deal with. Courteous happy and friendly My meal arrived...... did not resemble anything like the meal I had received two weeks previous. The chicken was cold hard. Difficult to cut dry etc etc. There was no broad beans ginger dressing or seeds within the salad. I did complain explaining I couldn’t eat the chicken and it was cold It was taken away and was told a fresh meal would come shortly. They kept my potatoes warm in meantime. My husband ate alone. My replacement meal arrived and was exactly the same as the original. I was upset and didn’t want to make a fuss but the male waiter approached me and I couldn’t lie. I was offered a different replacement meal but by now my husband had finished his burger which was good The chicken remained cold hard to cut and eat dry and salad items and dressing remained absent I had watercress stems so thick I couldn’t eat and fennel root in 5 cm discs that I couldn’t cut or eat Still hungry I decided to have pudding something I never do. My husband ordered sticky toffee pudding which was served with COLD custard and I had Xmas pudding which was hot but served with a small amount of sauce on cold plate therefore cold sauce. Couldn’t wait to get out of there and will not return The cost of my main meal was taken off the bill they did charge me for the potatoes Poor poor poor!! Chef needs a good talking to!!

Had a lovely meal lasagne and chips for me and my boyfriend had the lamb. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Definitely go back again

We visited yesterday evening for my birthday. The food, and service from Lisa, Debbie and Meg was excellent. Plenty of hand sanitising stations and we felt very Covid safe. They made a fuss of our 1 year old daughter too. Thanks guys and keep up the good work x

We booked a table weeks ago gor our 10th wedding anniversary, originally we requested a 10 but due to the current climate were only allowed a 6, depending on the covid situation improving we may had been allowed a 7. However due to the lockdown restrictions in RCT I called on the day to drop the booking from a 6 to a 4, and was already upset that my son and daughter were unable to attend. On arrival however we were greeted by the waitress that asked if she could help so I informed her that we had a table of 4 booked, to which she asked if we were all from the same household, which we weren't, just us and my one daughter and fiance, to which I got a sharp blunt reply that we were unable to enter. What I was most upset about was that the booking was made weeks ago, and I had phoned during the day and wasn't asked or advised on the changes to the lockdown situation and the manner in which I was just bluntly told we couldn't go in. no offer of two smaller tables. We left and we're accommodated in the local harvester where the maitre de and waitresses went beyond in accommodating us with two separate tables and a complimentary bottle of wine due to our distress at our experience at Castle Mynach and to help us enjoy our Anniversary meal. We will never go there again and will make sure we repeat our bad experience there to others
